Thinkways aims to provide workshop activities that are not only challenging and engaging, but exposes children to new ideas and experiences. Here are just some of the workshops we have run in the past.

Young Doctors

This is truly a workshop like no other which will be sure to excite the aspiring doctors out there. How many places on your body can you measure your heart rate? What does a real heart look like… inside? Test your reflexes in this amazing workshop that will tingle your senses. We will delve into body system theory, organ structure and function, and much more. Did we say that students get to dissect a real organs which include hearts and eyes? Guided by a qualified teacher specialising in the sciences and a registered emergency nurse, students will explore the human body like never before to develop anatomical knowledge and foster critical and creative thinking.

Young Engineers

As one famous engineer once said, “Failure is central to engineering. Every single calculation that an engineer makes is a failure calculation. Successful engineering is all about understanding how things break or fail.” In this workshop we put the skills of each individual to the test where they planned and built a bridge and tested the model for strength and stability. The workshop brought together like minded students who enhanced each other’s learning.

Chess Masters

“Every chess master was once a beginner.” Students received instruction on how to play and had fun exploring the fundamentals of chess including openings, strategies and tactics that the professionals use. Plenty of time was given to play some friendlies too. Learning to play chess is a great way to help develop concentration, memory, self-esteem and the ability to collaborate and interact with others.
